The Concord Insider was in New York City in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Skip and Brenda Constant were clowns with the Keystone Cops and Robbers. Our gift guide was a positive joy

What a joy to open the Concord Insiderrecently and find “The Insider's Guide to United Way Giving.” I encourage everyone to look at their own holiday budgets and to reach out to one of these fine organizations. We beat the Grammarnator!

We thought something looked fishy about last week's Grammarnator, and when we received the following message from Robert Pingree himself, we knew there was something awry: “The Grammarnator will not provide a column based on material in the issue of 11/22-28. Instead, he will humbly yield his space to the peoplewho write in about the error he committed that week.”Indeed, we received several calls and emails from...

Toddlers, tiaras and the Ball & Chain

Dear Casper and Bill,I've been married for five years to my lovely wife. We have a beautiful almost-5-year-old daughter, and she means everything to us. However, recently my wife has started signing her up for beauty pagents, and it's kind of weirding me out. It's not the idea of the pageants themselves that I don't like, it's just that I feel like my wife is pushing her into them. She was in pageants herself as a...
