SPCA animals gave NHTI students a study break and licked some faces
There were plenty of things we loved about college. Taking finals wasn’t one of them. But then again, we never had the pleasure of studying in the presence of a pleasant little furry critter (unless you count that one kid from Room 118.) Not so for the students in Strout Hall at NHTI, who got to take a study break with some cuty and cuddly animals from the Pope Memorial SPCA on Tuesday night. Cesar the dog and Pecan the cat made an...

There was a lot going on downtown during Midnight Merriment on Dec. 6, but if you happened to duck into Red River Theatres, you ran into a totally rad Santa appearance – a Santa Dude appearance, to be exact. We also want you to do your thing, then post it on Instagram, then tag us with #concordinsider. That’s the formula for getting pictures...

Concord’s Holiday Dinner to feed those in need on Christmas
Christmas is a day for spending time with family, eating a nice meal and tearing off the wrapping paper from the presents Santa left under the tree. But not everybody is fortunate enough to enjoy that kind of holiday. And that’s why Steve Duprey began hosting the Concord Community Holiday Dinner seven years ago. He wanted a way to give back during the holiday season, and with the Friendly Kitchen closed on Christmas Day, it just...

Classic Concord Photo – Tue, 16 Dec 2014
This is obviously a scene from another, much more sepia era in Concord history, but there’s some pretty cool stuff here at the corner of Pleasant and Main Street. For instance, note the granite crosswalk on a dirt road, the horse watering trough in the middle of the “intersection,” and the handy downtown casket and coffin store, just in case you happened to need to hit that up after leaving J. S. Green’s boots and shoes place (though...
