Getting our rock face on – Tue, 14 Jan 2014
Here are Nicholas and Mary Jane Wallner in front of the Treasury or ‘Al-Khazneh’ in the Petra valley of Jordan. According to Nicholas, Petra is a city carved in the rock face more than 2,000 years ago!

Miss Fitzgerald’s class captured Manor Fire Station in photos, and we got our hands on the results.
Historical museum has all you ever wanted to know about N.H.
It’s hard to imagine the history of New Hampshire being housed in just two buildings. With 200-plus years of people, places and things to show off, those would have to be some of the largest buildings in the state, and quite possibly the world. Yet somehow, the New Hampshire Historical Society pulled it off. Unfortunately, not all of the mementos are displayed at one time. It’s just downright impossible, with more than 33,000 pieces...
Red River Theatres makes Andrew Pinard’s magic show reappear
You may remember us introducing you to Andrew Pinard a few months back. No, not at that office party you’ve blocked out of your memory; here, on these pages, when his “Discovering Magic” show was set to debut at Red River Theaters. Well, the show is back by popular demand after a successful fall season. The “mind-numbing, jaw-dropping, eye-opening” experience takes audiences on a guided tour of the impossible and the absurd. Using...

Snow isn’t always cute, but this kid sure is
Citing what we’ve determined to be irrefutable logic, Sandy Dallaire of Concord sent us these pictures of her 18-month-old grandson, Dyson, on his way to the store with his parents, David and Jenna Dallaire, in Boulder, Colo., because they were “too precious not to share.” For the record, we feel the same away about cupcakes, in case you’ve got any. David grew up in Concord and graduated from Concord High School in 1993 before...

Classic Concord Photo – Tue, 14 Jan 2014
Here we have White’s Opera House, which was also the home to the Daily Patriot, according to the sign out front that says, Daily Patriot (we’re nothing if not investigative reporters). It also apparently featured Moving Pictures, which we presume was an advertisement for movies and not a business where people came to your house and shuffled your photos around. Thanks to reader Earl Burroughs for the picture.

As he weepily surveys the damage, we discover that the scraps of carnage spell out the city memo!Wait, winter is fun?At this carnival, it isThe annual Winter Carnival at White Park is...
