White Park is the place to go really fast down a hill – on a sled
The sledding hill at White Park has seen plenty of use recently thanks to Mother Nature’s string of big storms.
NHTI’s annual wheelchair charity hoops game was another slam dunk
The NHTI “All Stars” took on several teams of NHTI students in the 13th annual Wheelchair Basketball Benefit at the school Tuesday afternoon, earning a come-from-behind win thanks to a late rally.
Make use of all this snow by hitting the trails
Has all this snow gotten you a little down? We understand it can be difficult to navigate through the winter months, and we’re not even talking about trying to drive the narrow side streets as a large plow truck attempts to do the same. When you live in this winter wonderland we call New Hampshire, there’s no sense in trying to avoid it, because you might as well just find a nice bear family to hibernate with if that’s the case....
Connect Four – Tue, 10 Feb 2015
The owner of this truck managed to pull off the difficult and rare jerk driver quadruple in one simple act – parking in parts of four different parking spaces at NHTI. It’s enough to earn a gesture in which four of said gesture maker’s fingers remain down. At least the owner cleaned all the snow out of the back of the truck before pulling in.

For Tim, basketball is easier when sitting and wheels are involved
You should have seen it. I’m flying down the court in NHTI’s Goldie Crocker Wellness Center and the pass hits me perfectly in stride. I pull up and knock down the shot. It was my only two points of the game, but they proved to be crucial in a big rally that resulted in a huge win. Now, I don’t think I mentioned that I was playing said basketball game in a wheelchair. Don’t worry; I didn’t break my leg tripping over one of Sophie’s...
Bishop Brady is hosting a basketball extravaganza, so you should go
You can get a lot for $10 these days. It would be hard to list all the great things, so we urge you to use your imagination and fill in the blanks. But on that list you may or may not have made, is there a place where you have the opportunity to watch five, count them five, high school basketball games in one day? Well if not, we do, and it just so happens to be at Bishop Brady High School this Sunday. The second annual Frank Monahan...

Classic Concord Photo – Tue, 10 Feb 2015
We swiped this awesome photo of downtown Concord from Rich Woodfin on Facebook. Discussion in the comment thread seems to date it somewhere in the early 1950s. The celebrated Puritan Restaurant is visible in the background, in the building labeled Concord Commercial College, which is where we assume students went to learn about advertising. The Back to the Futurey vibe of the photo was overwhelming enough we spent 10 minutes searching...
The League of Craftsmen has a new favorite color – and it’s blue

Craftsmen opened a new exhibit titled Blue: The Sky’s The Limit, which you may have guessed includes lots of cool stuff made with blue as either the star or a nice accent. The show runs through March 20 at the League Headquarters, located at 49 S. Main St.
City Briefly
Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell straps his entire stuffed animal collection into the front of his Iditarod sled and heads out for a training run, finding the going extremely snuggly and adorable, if a little slow. He spends most of his time encouraging his team with cutesy baby talk, which translates into the city memo! Instagram photo of the Week – Tue, 10 Feb 2015
Instagram user @chellsearobbin said she loves “the contrast of brick buildings with snow,” which is a good thing, because we’d say it’s gonna be pretty contrasty for the next six or eight months or so. Us? We prefer the contrast of our pasty feet and miles of blue ocean water. Which, technically, we could still get pictures of at this time of year, as long as frostbite isn’t a thing we’re worried about (note: we’re worried about it)....

Lace up the old skates and enjoy a little bit of winter’s creation
In the winter wonderland we call New Hampshire, ice is just part of the deal. It’s covering driveways, hanging off gutters and is no longer needed for the one job we like it for – keeping our drinks cold. But that’s just the view of the winter pessimist, the glass-half-empty kind of person, and you know us better than that. So instead of thinking the worst of ice, why not get out there and enjoy it? In case you didn’t know, Concord...
