The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Concord Young Professionals Network introduces you to our “Young Professional of the Month,” Tina Marchand. Each month the CYPN Steering Committee recommends a young professional in the community it thinks readers would enjoy getting to know better.
Where do you live? Goffstown.
Where do you currently work? I am the founder of Ellie and Piper Party Boutique, an e-commerce business selling modern party goods and gifts. We source our products from big brands like Meri Meri and Rifle Paper Co. to small handmade items from Etsy shops and offer customers a wide selection of on-trend birthday party themes, seasonal holidays and everyday celebrations like bridal and baby showers.
What’s your favorite part of your work day? It’s a treat to connect with customers on Instagram and see how our customers style their parties with items from our online shop, ellieandpiper.com.
Where did you go to school? I studied Marketing and Sales at the University of Houston.
What do you like to do for fun? My hobbies are cooking and baking. I love to try out new recipes and have friends and family over for dinner.
Favorite places to be? Lying in bed and savoring the sweet moments before my daughter falls asleep is my absolute favorite place to be. Sometimes she holds my face with her tiny pudgy hands and tells me she loves me. It’s what motherhood dreams are made of.
Last book you’ve read? The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. So many jaw-dropping moments — I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a new historical fiction book to get into.
How did you find out about CYPN and how has it benefited your business or you personally? My husband registered us for a Greater Concord Chamber event and we immediately made new friends from CYPN that night. I cannot thank CYPN enough for welcoming us with open arms and connecting us with other young professionals in the community to help generate awareness for our business.
Who is your greatest role model? My parents came to America, had to learn a new language and adapt to a new culture. They worked so hard to live out the American Dream and provided a beautiful life for me and my siblings. I am forever grateful for their personal sacrifices and the opportunities they gave us.
What’s your favorite restaurant in Concord? I love Siam Orchid Thai Bistro. The staff is so attentive and sweet to our baby girl and the food is delicious and authentic.
What’s your favorite place to go in Concord? Revelstoke is my go-to place for a great cup of coffee. The owners greet you when you come in and wave at you when you leave, exactly the kind of warm vibes you’d want a local coffee shop to have.
What has been your favorite CYPN event so far? Touring the new Bank of NH Stage was something I’ll never forget.
Where is the best place you’ve visited? Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal, is a castle straight out of a fairy tale — so magical! A close second is Hallstatt, Austria — a quiet and charming town surrounded by majestic mountains and a serene lake. Sliding down a salt mine is not something you get to do every day!
