With summer already right around the corner, it’s time to start planning fun stuff for the kids. Luckily, Concord is home to a wide variety of camp options, from educational to athletic to just plain fun.
We rounded up as much information as we could (and as much as we could fit on the page), but don’t be afraid to poke around for other options, as we’re sure there are probably more out there.
Concord Parks and Recreation
Concord Parks and Recreation has dozens of camps running all summer, with too much information to fit here, so we’ll give you the basics.
There are three traditional camps – Stay and Play (formerly Kids Kamp) for kids in first through fifth grade, Rec Adventure Camp for third through fifth grade and Adventure Camp for sixth through eighth grade. Rec Adventure Camp has four weeks, while the others have eight. They start June 18.
Apart from those, there are several specialty camps focusing on sports such as field hockey, golf, tennis and soccer, and other things like theater and dance.
Prices vary from camp to camp, as does availability – one week of the Rec Adventure Camp is already full, Recreation Supervisor Laura Bryant said, and the ConcordTV camp fills up fast, so don’t delay.

Kimball Jenkins
Kimball Jenkins has two camps – Teen Art Camp and KJ Summer Arts Camp. Summer Arts Camp is for kids, and there are six weeks, starting July 9. Each week has a different theme, and kids are grouped by age. Camp days run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Teen Art Camp, for teens, features five sessions, with the first one running two weeks starting July 9 and the rest running one week. These sessions will be more involved than the kids’ ones, but will be every bit as fun.

Evo Rock + Fitness
Evo Rock + Fitness has three camps this summer. Summer Gibbons is a program for kids ages 3 to 5. The five-week session, which is held Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. starting July 14, is for the kids who are too young for camp but eager to climb.
Summer Indoor Camp is for ages 6 to 12 and meets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting June 25. Campers will explore all the gym has to offer under the guidance of EVO’s staff.
Adventure Camp is for ages 10 and up and meets Monday through Friday starting June 25. The week will consist of one indoor training day, three days of outdoor rock climbing and one day of an outdoor ropes course.
