Everyone loves free stuff. And if you’ve been known to enjoy thumbing through a comic book or two, then you’re going to really love what we’re about to tell you.
Saturday is Free Comic Book Day and Double Midnight Comics (67 S. Main St.) is once again embracing the industry created day to say thanks to lovers of comics from all over the city and beyond.
From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Double Midnight will giving away free comics – and lots of them. There will be three stations set up inside the store where you can get a total of about 30 comics. And to be clear, these are comics that have been created specifically for this day.
But while Double Midnight doesn’t open until 10 a.m., there will be a line infront of the store that in year’s past has started to form as early as 8 a.m.
There will also be door prizes and trivia for those waiting in line, along with a kids costume contest. Local artists will also be on hand to show off their work.
And while there isn’t an adult costume contest, feel free to dress up.
At Red River Theatres, they will be showing Lego Batman at 10 a.m. and will have costumed characters, including Batman, Robin and Wonder Woman, a coloring contest, trivia and of course, free comics. Tickets are $5.
