Recently, the Concord Grange and the N.H. Center for Nonprofits gave out awards at local ceremonies.
Concord Grange
The Concord Grange held its 42nd annual Grange Month Celebration honoring members and individuals in the community on April 16.
William Marston and Mary Stuart Gile, a N.H. State Representative, were presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards. The Community Spirit Award went to Matt Finney, a third grade teacher at Broken Ground School. Robert Wolfe was named Citizen of the Year.
Also receiving awards were: Colleen Simko, Concord Police Parking Officer, First Responder Award; Concord Police Chief Brad Osgood, Public Service Award; State Rep. David Luneau, Ward 5 and Town of Hopkinton, Legislator of the Year; Howard Pearl, Agriculture Farm Award; Cadet Tyler Lawrence, Concord Civil Air Patrol, Youth Award; Heidi Crumrine, Educator of the Year; Mark Barrett, State Police Trooper for Concord area; Scott Bourque, Firefighter of the Year; Tom Nault, Concord Fire Department, Special Community Supporter, Award; and Ben Mitchell, Concord Police Department, Police Officer of the Year.
A Special Appreciation Award went to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
The Concord Insider (that’s us) was given a national award (pictured above) for promotion of the Grange and other organizations. Matt Fallon from the Concord Fire Department was honored with the Northeast Grange’s First Responder Award.
Grange members were honored for long time memberships: Thomas Ellis, 60 years; Kathlyn Quig, 80 years; Betty Hanson, 65 years; Donald Little, 60 years; Harold Patten, 55 years; David Murray and John Moore, 25 years.
The next meeting for the Grange will be May 21.
Nonprofit Awards
The 2018 Nonprofit Impact Awards were presented by the N.H. Center for Nonprofits on April 9 at the annual Nonprofit Impact Celebration held to recognize the impact of the nonprofit sector in New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Impact Award was presented to Helen Taft, former Executive Director of Families First Health & Support Center.
The Board Impact Award was presented to Mary Susan Leahy, attorney at McLane Middleton.
The Nonprofit Impact Award was presented to White Birch Center.
The Healthy Community Impact Award, presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, was awarded to Hope on Haven Hill.
Terry Knowles of the Attorney General’s Charitable Trust Unit also received a special recognition for her dedication and service to New Hampshire nonprofits.
