There are always a lot of options for seeing some live entertainment in Concord. Between concerts, movies and theater performances, there’s never a shortage of live shows to take in around here, and we scoured the internet looking for the best of what’s coming up this week.
Here’s what we found:
Music
Wednesday
Open jam night will take place at Area 23 at 7 p.m. The rules are simple: just show up and jam. There’s no cover charge for this show.
Tap your feet to robust vocals and tremendous three-part harmonies with North Sea Gas at the Concord City Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., part of the free Walker Lecture Series. Guitars, mandolins, harmonicas, bouzoukis, fiddles, whistles, bodhrans, banjos and good humor are all part of the entertainment.
Thursday
All originals open mic with Dusty Gray will be in session at True Brew Barista at 8 p.m. There’s no cover charge for open mic nights.
Friday
Granite State Revival will return to the stage at True Brew at 10 p.m. Sully and the Scraps will get the show started at 9. Expect to pay a $5 cover.
Murhpys Law will play at Pit Road Lounge at 8 p.m. Bring $5 for the cover.
It’s the first Friday of the month, which means First Fridays with Scott Solksy and Friends will be in session at Area 23 at 8 p.m. Solsky and a rotating cast of musical friends will help get your month off to a harmonious start.
Cheers is now offering bonfires (in three fire pits) on the patio, weather permitting, every Friday and Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. This Friday will feature Ryan Williamson playing for the crowd by firelight. So cozy!
Symphony NH will perform Dvorak’s 9th Symphony “From the New World,” inspired by his many years spent in the United States, along with Beethoven’s “Coriolan Overture” and Henniker native Amy Beach’s Symphony E Minor “Gaelic” at the Audi at 8 p.m. Reception and book-signing follow. Tickets are $18 to $49, with senior discounts available. Student tickets are $10 and tickets for children 15 and under are free. Saturday
BeefStu will stir the pot at Area 23 at 8:30 p.m.
The Miner Band will play a major show at Pit Road Lounge at 8 p.m.

The Capitol Center for the Arts will bring the national tour of Jersey Boys to Concord at 7:30 p.m. The show is already sold out, but some individual tickets may still be available, so go to ccanh.com or call 225-1111 to check availability.
Friday
The Cap Center will welcome three old friends – Garrison Keillor, and Robin and Linda Williams – for an evening of harmony and humor at 8 p.m., and Keillor will speak of the beauty of being 75. Tickets are $48.50 to $78.50 and are available at ccanh.com.
Hatbox Theatre will present the opening of the play God of Carnage at 7:30 p.m. It’s a story about two sets of Brooklyn parents who share the same local shops and parks but who met completely by chance. The show will run through Oct. 22 with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $12 to $17 and can be purchased at hatboxnh.com.
Hatbox will also launch Tales Told: Trick or Treat next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. This will be an 18-plus show. The Tales Told storytelling series will run monthly through next August.
Saturday
Deadpan comedy legend Steven Wright will take his dry humor to the Cap Center at 8 p.m. Tickets are $39.50 to $49.50.
