It’s everybody’s favorite time of year again – time to look over the Concord City Auditorium’s fall schedule, which is now posted to  concordcityauditorium.org.

When the weather starts to cool off, people tend to like to do things indoors, and that’s where the Audi comes in. There’s always something going on over there, and it seems like there are more events every year.

Here are some highlights of the upcoming season:

The 27th annual season opening gala will be Sept. 17, with the gala party and ice cream social at 6 p.m. and the gala variety show starting at 7. The gala is always a big to-do that marks the opening of the season, and the Friends of the Audi are ready to celebrate 27 years this year.

All Saints Anglican Church will hold an opera competition Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. The event will feature 10 to 12 young opera performers competing for a hefty $750 first-place prize.

Dorothy, Toto and the rest of the gang will take the stage for productions of The Wizard of Oz on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. This will be the first time in about 20 years the Community Players Children’s Theatre Project will perform the classic.

On Oct. 22, the Concord Coachmen Barbershop Chorus will take you back to 1957, the year they first came to be. The Coachmen may have a few guests with them for this matinee musical performance that begins at 2 p.m.
