After a monthlong vote, many days and late nights spent tallying up the ballots, we finally have the answer to the most important question in the Capital Region right now: Who won this year’s Cappies?
Well, the answer is lots of local businesses, to be exact, since there were five main categories – fun, shopping, health and beauty, living and food and drink – with 94 subcategories to vote for.
And while that is a daunting task to say the least, more than 1,500 votes were cast in this year’s results.
As you’ll soon see, lots of your favorite locales are represented in this year’s awards, which is really more about bragging rights than actual awards.
Can you just imagine how much it would cost to get little Insider trophies for all the winners and top-three finishers?
Some of the voter decisions will make all the sense in the world, while others may shock you a bit, but isn’t that the fun of the voting process? You never quite know what you’re going to get.
Over the next umpteen pages (too many to count) you’ll find all the results for the top three in each category, where they are located, how to call them and where to find them on the interwebs.
But enough rambling for now (there’s plenty of that in the rest of the paper), it’s time to embrace the madness that is the Cappies.
The envelope please . . .
