The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Concord Young Professionals Network introduces you to another Young Professional of the Month, Heidi Schmidt.

Where do you live? Manchester.
Where do you work? NHTI – Concord’s Community College.
Where did you go to school? SNHU and NHTI.
What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy shopping and going to the beach in the summertime.
Favorite places to be? The ocean.
Last book you’ve read? The Collector.
How did you find out about CYPN, and how has it benefited your business or you personally? Kelly Spain invited me to be part of the event planning sub-committee when I first started working in student affairs at NHTI back in 2009. Concord Young Professionals Network has become an amazing opportunity for me to feel a part of the Concord community. Being from southern New Hampshire, I spent a lot of time in Concord but really felt connected once I became involved in CYPN and got to know others in the community. Now Concord feels like my home away from home.
What organizations are you involved with? I’m currently serving as the chair for CYPN this year which has been an amazing experience. I am also an ex-officio member of the board for the Children’s Place and Family Resource Center for this year.
Most inspirational person in your life? My mom! She is intelligent, kind, thoughtful and someone I respect greatly.
Greatest role model? Michelle Obama – she reminds me that you can be in a leadership role while being true to yourself and it’s okay to have fun.
What’s your favorite restaurant in Concord? O Steaks & Seafood.
What’s your favorite place to go in Concord? The Conservation Center. The trails are perfect for walking and you can swim there . . . I love it.
Favorite movie of all time? Little Mermaid.
What is one of your life goals? To make a positive impact on those around me.
What has been your favorite CYPN event so far? I really enjoyed the entire wellness series.
Favorite famous person? Kid President.
If you could visit any country, where would you go? Australia.
Where is the best place you’ve visited? Greece.
Who would you really like to meet? For a celebrity: Usher. For a role model: Maya Angelou.
Tell us a few interesting facts about yourself! I have participated in the dragon boat race at the Weekend on the Water event the past few years and it’s a blast! During the summer, my favorite thing to do is to read at the pool or the beach. I love traveling internationally and have a lot of fun meeting people from all over the world. I like to consider myself an extroverted introvert because I enjoy my down time but also enjoy spending time to get to know others.
