February vacation fun at River Guild
Looking for some something fun for your child to do during February vacation week? Join The River Guild for its Creative Movers mini-camp for three days full of creativity, art, movement, games, yoga, breathing and relaxation stories. There will be dancing, story telling, group activities, creating a group play, snacks and more. The camp, which runs Feb. 28 through March 2, is open to children ages 5 to 10 and taught by Kasia Beznoska. Cost is $108 per child.

Jazz sanctuary to visit New Orleans
“The Spiritual Gumbo Called Mardi Gras – A Celebration That Everything Belongs!” is the theme of this Sunday’s Jazz Sanctuary – First Church/Third Sunday at 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church (corner of N. Main and Washington streets).
A swinging, six piece New Orleans-style jazz band will join vocalist and pastor, Emilia Halstead for the music, and the book Everything Belongs: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer by Franciscan Richard Rohr, will guide the conversational time. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Tea party, Alice in Wonderland style
Kimball-Jenkins Estate will host an Alice in Wonderland tea party on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the mansion.
Enjoy refreshments, storytelling, crafts, whimsical art installations and all manner of madness. Costumes are encouraged.
Ink illustrations telling the story will be spread throughout the mansion, as each room and hallway will be themed by a chapter from the book.
Registration is required and tickets are $10. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Concord Regional VNA offers Dying to Talk Cafe on Feb. 22 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at True Brew Barista in Gibson’s Bookstore, 45 S. Main St. This month’s topic is “Having the Conversation.”
Monthly Dying to Talk Cafes give people the opportunity to breathe life into conversations about dying.

The Merrimack County Stamp Collectors will hold its monthly meeting at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St., Bow, on Feb. 21 at 1 p.m.

Car registrations to be interrupted
The N.H. Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles, is implementing a new computer system this month. Residents are reminded that there will be a statewide interruption of motor vehicle registration processing beginning on Friday, through Tuesday (Feb. 21). Transactions will resume on Feb. 22.

Program to help food insecurities
The Merrimack Valley School District is partnering with The Friends Program and Friends of Forgotten Children on a pilot initiative to stop childhood hunger in the community by starting a backpack program for students who are food insecure.
The program will provide meals to students over the weekend when they may not have access to food.
There will be an informational meeting on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Friends of Forgotten Children, 224 Bog Road.

Village Association to meet Saturday
The Penacook Village Association annual meeting and brunch will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the Merrimack Valley High School cafeteria.
Following a buffet breakfast, a brief general meeting will be conducted with the election of board members. City officials will then discuss economic development and other concerns of Penacook residents.
