Red River
On Thursday, Red River Theatres will hold a special 50th anniversary Screening of Valley of the Dolls.
The screening of the 1960’s classic about three gals bound for show-biz fame before getting derailed by sex, booze and pills, will include live “Dolls,” a sing-a-long, trivia contest and more from host Jim Webber.
The screening will be held at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $13, and $11 for members.

The Audi
The second concert of the Concord Community Concert Association’s 86th season will feature pianist Chad Bowles presenting a classical program on the Concord City Auditorium’s grand piano on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for the concert are $18, and available at Gibson’s Bookstore, the UPS Store on S. Main Street, and at the door.

Capitol Center
The Beach Boys will take over the Capitol Center for the Arts stage on Saturday and there’s still time to get a seat.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and expect to hear all your favorite classic tunes.

Music School
Two folk-themed programs will kick off the 2016-17 Bach’s Lunch Series at the Concord Community Music School.
On Thursday, singer, fiddler, mandolinist and guitarist Skip Gorman will give a lecture titled “Across the Pond: Celtic Airs to Cowboy Ballads.” The following week, on Nov. 10, Gorman will return to the music school stage with singer Susie Burke and guitarist and mandolinist David Surette to present a concert.
Bach’s Lunch programs are free and open to the public, and take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in the music school’s Recital Hall.
Interfaith choir
The Concord Light Opera Company will present an Interfaith Community Choir on Sunday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 79 Clinton St., at 4 p.m.
The Interfaith Community Choir is a gathering of local faith community choirs joining in song for the benefit of the Family Promise Program of Greater Concord. Each choir will present individual selections, concluding with all of the choirs singing together.
The mission of Family Promise is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. A suggested donation of $5 will benefit Family Promise.
