Can you believe that the Concord Young Professionals Network is 10 years old?
It seemed like just yesterday when the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce initiative was just getting off the ground.
But now, it’s the go to group for up and coming professionals in the Concord area.
“Ten years ago, they wanted to find a way to incentivize young professionals to stay in the area,” said outgoing chair Elyssa Alfieri.
And what better way to celebrate a birthday than with a little celebration. On Wednesday, the CYPN is hosting a 10th birthday party at True Brew Barista beginning at 5:30 p.m.
There will be cupcakes thanks to New England Cupcakery and the Granite Restaurant and Bar is handling the food.
And you can’t throw a birthday bash without a little music. That’s why David Shore’s Trunk O Funk will be entertaining party goers for the evening.
“There will be networking, but mostly we are just really excited to have a fun celebration,” Alfieri said.
The CYPN typically hosts its networking get togethers on the third Wednesday of each month, but the birthday party will be held in its place. But don’t worry, you’ll be able to get all your socializing in at this event, as well as learn a little bit about the organization.
While the monthly meet-ups are usually free, the birthday party is serving as a fundraiser so it will cost you $10 to get in. Don’t forget though, there will be food, music and cupcakes.
If you’re not familiar with CYPN, it’s a great place for young professionals to network, find a job or be recruited for a new career.
