NHTI to host 5K for Friendly Kitchen
For the 10th year, NHTI will host a 5K road race/fitness walk to help support the Friendly Kitchen.
The race is Friday at 5:30 p.m. on NHTI’s Seekamp Trail. There will also be a fun run for children at 6:15.
New this year is the Runner’s Alley Friendly Kitchen Bowl for the fastest corporate team. All fun run participants will receive a prize. There will be refreshments, a raffle and more.
Registration entry fee is by donation. Give whatever you can to the Friendly Kitchen. Registration is encouraged. For more details and to register, visit thefriendlykitchen.org/news-and-events.

Senior friendly Tai Chi starts Sept. 12
Senior friendly Tai Chi will start Sept. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Horseshoe Pond Senior Center.
Participants learn a modified Yang form. Yang is a very expressive movement that feels like dance. Drop-ins are $5 or pay by month ($20).

Music continues in Bicentennial Square
New York-based folk and bluegrass group Greg Cornell & The Cornell Brothers will take the stage in Bicentennial Square on Friday to share their upbeat brand of roots music as part of True Brew Barista’s Summer In The Square Music Series.
The band is currently on a small tour of New England and will be performing material off their new album Come On Home.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Breast Cancer Survivors Day Oct. 1
Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care and Concord Hospital Breast Care Center will celebrate Breast Cancer Survivors Day on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Concord Hospital.
Any individuals previously and newly diagnosed with breast cancer are invited to attend this free event.
Dr. Matthew DiMasi, a board-certified radiologist, is the first speaker and will talk about breast imaging and the newer technologies that are available. Megan Ryder, an oncology dietitian, will address the importance of good nutrition after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Lunch will be provided and following lunch, participants will attend a chair yoga class and therapeutic arts session. Each registered participant will receive the book Cook for Your Life by Ann Ogden Gaffney. Space is limited and registration is required.

Artist to exhibit at Hatbox Theatre
Come see Andre Bertolino’s latest work at Hatbox Theatre on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m.
The spray paint and stencil style Bertolino has become known for will take the back seat to a different medium, namely oil and asphaultum on mounted burlap.
Following the reception, Discovering Magic, featuring Andrew Pinard, will take over the Hatbox stage at 7:30 p.m. Cost for the show is $16.50 for adults and $13.50 for students, seniors and members.
