Another week, another full slate of good, live music in Concord.
As usual, we’re here to give you the rundown so you don’t have to get your hands dirty digging up this info yourselves. You can thank us later.
Tuesday
For those of you lucky enough to secure this fine publication on Tuesday (sorry to everyone who has to wait an extra day), you’ll also be lucky enough to attend the Nevers Band’s performance at Presidential Oaks at 7 p.m. It’s part of the Concord Parks and Rec Summer Concert Series, and it’s free and open to all.
Thursday
Spend your Thursday evening outside as you listen to Club Soda rock the amphitheater at Eagle Square. This concert, like the one at Presidential Oaks, is put on by Concord Parks and Rec and is totally free. The show gets going at 7 p.m., and the same thing will happen every Thursday at Eagle Square through the end of August.
Speaking of music outside, you might also want to check out the patio at Cheers, which will be hosting Paul Lovely on Thursday. You can be sure it’ll be a lovely evening (sorry, this joke is just too good not to use every time).
Friday
Be proud to see Shameless at the Pit Road Lounge on Friday night. This isn’t the TV show, so if that’s what you’re hoping to see, you’ll be disappointed. If you want music, though, you should be pleased.
At Makris Lobster and Steak House, it will be Nuff Said taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. This is one of those bands whose name speaks for itself.
For a more intimate setting, check out Six Strings, Three Chords at NEC Concord, featuring Tristan Omand and Meaghan Casey. Doors open at 7 p.m. for a 7:30 show, and it’s free with a suggested donation of $5. Check it out if you like smaller settings where you can connect with the artists on a more personal level.
Saturday
If you really want to get the good times rolling, make your way over to Penuche’s for Dopamine on Saturday night. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers, and it’s also a pretty gnarly local reggae/rock/jam band that fits in perfectly at Penuche’s. The show gets going some time after dark, and there may be a cover charge that gets cheaper as it gets later. Check it out to find out!
There’s also a Fuzz Boxx show Saturday at the Pit Road Lounge. From hardcore country music to full-on rock, Fuzz Boxx does a little bit of everything, except rap, of course.
