In the past few months, artists have brought in a lot of fresh work that hadn’t found a spot in previous shows at McGowan Fine Art. So the staff had an idea to put it all together in one varying exhibit entitled, “Hello, My Name Is . . . Addicted to Art.” It features the art that got the staff excited, while providing an opportunity to tell the audience why the art deserves a second look. The McGowan staff, select collectors and artists have also provided written perspectives on the allure of the pieces. The exhibit, which includes new work from McGowan mainstays like John Bonner, Barbara Carr, Youdhi Maharajan, Bruce McColl, Melissa Anne Miller, Kat O’Connor and Shiao-Ping Wang (among others), will be on display through Aug. 19 with a reception to be held July 21.
