Are you one of those people who just can’t resist quoting your favorite movies?
Do your friends and family get annoyed when you do it? Have you started watching movies on your own to avoid the backlash that ensues when you start reciting the lines you’ve spent years memorizing?
Well, never fear because we have just the solution – if you like quoting The Princess Bride, that is. Red River Theatres is hosting a Princess Bride Quote-A-Long on Thursday and you are free to spew out any lines you wish during the 98 minutes of sarcasm and sattire. Just make sure to stick with the lines in the movie because no one wants to hear you reciting the lines to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, while they mimic the words of Westley, Inigo Montoya and Vizzini.
The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with a costume contest, trivia and more. Yes, that means you can dress up in a costume on a day that’s not Halloween.
The film starts at 7 p.m. and your cost of admission includes a set of props to help move the action off-screen and make it come alive in the theater. It’s safe to say you’ll be surrounded by others who really like The Princess Bride.
Tickets are $15, $13 for Red River members and $10 for those under 16.
