Guyette Pool at Rolfe Park has received some major renovations for the new pool season. Concord General Services’ Public Properties Division renovated the pool to enhance safety, accessibility, efficiency and appeal.

A public ribbon cutting ceremony with Concord Mayor Jim Bouley, and City Manager Tom Aspell, was held on June 16 to commemorate the renovations with the community and local residents.

A grand pool reopening hosted by Concord Parks and Recreation followed the event for the public to see the new pool firsthand and take the first swim.

The main pool was rebuilt with new concrete and plaster linings that feature a zero-entry access for full ADA accessibility. Line-of- sight obstructions were removed and deck floor traction and drainage were increased to reduce slips, trips and falls. New exciting features include a beach style ramp and gusher jets! New bathroom partitions and fixtures were installed, along with new energy efficient LED exterior lighting. Electrical upgrades and a fresh coat of paint to the facility buildings were also completed. This renovation is the first step of a multi-year commitment to upgrade and improve all seven of the city’s neighborhood pools.

Concord’s community swimming pools officially opened for the summer on June 18.

Concord and Penacook residents must bring identification for free entry. Non-residents may purchase a family pass at the parks and recreation office for full summer access to all community pools. More information and pool hours can be found by visiting concordnh.gov/pools.
