Concord is home to all kinds of places to see and buy art. You already know about all the big ones, of course. But you may not know that there are many other places that have art, even if these places don’t call themselves art galleries.
As usual, we’re sure there are places we missed, as Concord is a pretty big city and we’re pretty small in comparison. But, also as usual, we gave it the ol’ college try.
Here’s what we found:
Dos Amigos
Dos Amigos, one of Concord’s prime burrito joints (and home to a rack of fresh Insiders), always sports a nice selection of food – and art.
You never know what you’ll see on the walls when you walk in for $2 Taco Tuesdays – paintings, drawings, photos, paper dolls. Right now, nature photography by Michael Thompson is on display. Have a bite and feast your eyes at the same time.
NHTI
NHTI is known for being a college, but there’s also an art gallery in the library.
The library gallery always has a lot of exhibits on display at various points throughout the month. You can check it out during regular library hours, which change in the summer, so check nhti.edu to stay on top of hours, exhibits and anything else you want to know about.
CitySide Grille
CitySide Grille is a nice spot to grab breakfast, but it’s also a sneaky good place to find art.
Works by local artists grace the walls, sprinkled between generic store-bought prints. It creates a nice atmosphere.
Other places
The three places listed here are cool, hidden gems in terms of art, but they’re not the only ones around. You can also find art at The Works Bakery Café, 2 Pillsbury St., the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, SubStyle Vapors, The Place Studio & Gallery and even Red River Theatres sometimes.
