The Capital Area Wellness Coalition is pleased to announce the third annual Capital Area Well Done! Awards. These awards recognize and bring to the forefront wellness activities taking place at worksites, initiatives of community groups and the leadership of unsung wellness heroes within the community who are making a difference.

The CAWC’s Capital Area Well Done! Awards shine a light on these efforts because they align with its mission to create a culture of healthy living for everyone in the capital area. The CAWC is dedicated to promoting opportunities for healthy food choices and healthy eating education, accessible and available recreation and physical activities and a healthy lifestyle for all.

The coalition is seeking nominations of organizations, businesses, agencies, groups and individuals who have made progress or achieved goals toward creating a culture of health and wellness.

The award winners will be recognized by Concord Mayor Jim Bouley at an awards breakfast at Northeast Delta Dental on May 11.

The deadline for application submissions is April 8. The applications will be reviewed by a committee of independent community wellness advocates. The categories are:

∎ Well Workplace: Employers, worksite teams.

∎  Community Wellness Effort: Organizations, schools, youth, community groups, teams.

∎ Wellness Hero: An individual making a difference.

The coalition believes that bringing attention to the important work community members are doing to make greater Concord a healthier place to live and work will spur others on to take up this important challenge. They invite everyone to nominate wellness champions who are known and admired in area neighborhoods and worksites.
