10th annual artisans fair at Bishop Brady Saturday
Bishop Brady High School will host its 10th Annual Christmas Artisan Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The fair features 74 artisans, and will include raffles, a cookie walk, food and a Christmas Shop for children 12 and under. Admission is free.
Proceeds from the fair benefit Bishop Brady’s Habitat for Humanity Service Program.

Stamp collectors to 
meet in Bow on Dec. 15
The Merrimack County Stamp Collectors will hold its monthly meeting at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St., Bow, on Dec. 15 at 1 p.m.
We invite all who are interested in stamp collecting to attend, share their interest, buy, sell and trade. Meet other collectors and learn more about their hobby and enjoy the fellowship of others with varied interests in Philatelic resources and issues. Gain new insight and knowledge, sharing news articles and stories about stamp collecting. Learn of the latest cutting edge information on stamp collecting.

Fly tying classes at 
Passaconaway Club
Beginner fly tying classes are being held at the Passaconaway Club, Garvin’s Falls Road in Concord beginning Jan. 5, 2016.
Sponsored by the Basil W. Woods, Jr. Chapter of Trout Unlimited, the traditional beginner’s class will run for six consecutive Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m.
Six of the basic fly pattern types will be taught, and all materials will be provided. For students who do not have or do not want to invest in the required equipment initially, fly tying vises and equipment will be provided. Several instructors will be available to provide personal instruction.
Class size is limited to 15 students with a minimum age of 14 on a first come, first served basis. No experience necessary.
The cost of the class is $50 and includes a first time membership to Trout Unlimited.
At the completion of the beginner’s classes, a five-week intermediate class will commence ending in mid-March with 10 fly patterns offered with materials supplied. The cost of this class is $75.

Holiday folk concert at music school Saturday
Celebrate the season with an evening of holiday music and folk favorites. The Concord Community Music School invites you to take part in what has become a popular holiday tradition: the annual Holiday Folk Concert featuring Susie Burke and David Surette with Kent Allyn. The concert is scheduled for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the music school’s Recital Hall at 23 Wall St.
The concert will feature a number of selections from their holiday CD release Wonderland – along with folk and acoustic fare from their standard repertoire.
Surette and Allyn are members of the Concord Community Music School faculty.
Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

Furniture lecture and show at Work Nest
Join mid-century furniture dealer and admirer Rebecca Johnson, for a fun and informative evening focusing on the mid-century design movement at Work Nest, 85 S. State St., on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Johnson will cover the origins of the style, the defining characteristics, what to look for when collecting pieces of this era, and will conclude the evening with a special trunk show.
This event is followed by a pop-up shop of mid-century furniture and decor items, and is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. RSVP at worknestnh.com.

‘The Nutcracker’ to be performed at the Audi
The season’s signature piece, The Nutcracker, is performed twice every year at the Concord City Auditorium.
On Saturday, the Turning Pointe Center of Dance presents a matinee of their festive family-friendly production with talented dancers, bright sets and costumes, and holiday music at 2 p.m.

The magical ballet returns on Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. as the New Hampshire School of Ballet presents an enchanting full production of the holiday classic. The tree grows to the ceiling, the snow falls and the cast of 50 dancers light up the stage.

Used book sale at N.H. Audubon on Saturday
NH Audubon’s annual used book sale has returned, with a twist.
This year we are accepting and selling only natural history books (field guides, nature essays and nature based memoirs – no text books please).
The book sale will be held on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McLane Center in Concord. Come early for the best selections.
In addition to books, we will be selling some nature-focused artwork and photographs. There will also be a drawing for gift certificates to local services and opportunities, like Jazzercize classes, sports and cultural tickets, golf passes and admission to local attractions.

Legal series breakfast at Orr & Reno on Dec. 15
The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce announces the next seminar in the 2015-2016 Legal Breakfast Series will be held Dec. 15, from 8 to 9 a.m. at the offices of Orr & Reno at 45 S. Main St., 4th floor. The seminar, Timber: The Perils of Wood Worshipping, is a free seminar, and coffee and a light breakfast will be served.
New Hampshire law forcefully defends a property owner’s rights in protecting trees. Attorney Jeremy Eggleton helps you understand those rights to safeguard your property, seek redress and avoid damaging your neighbor inadvertently. Half-price book sale Thursday at library
On Thursday, the Concord Public Library is holding its Holiday Half Price Book Sale – a special sale in the lounge, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m, where all book sale items are half price.
