New man on the job
He’s a supervisor
Brian Pushee has been chosen to be the supervisor for the new Downtown Services Team.
Pushee joined the city of Concord in March 2014, working for the General Services Department. He brings six years of experience working for a private landscaping company, where he started out as a laborer and worked his way up to a construction supervisor. Pushee has experience installing and maintaining hardscapes and irrigation systems, as well as removing snow for large commercial sites, Aspell writes. It’s only safe to assume he’s the one to ask if you’re in need of a wicked snow pile for sledding
Pushee holds an associate degree in Construction Management and Architectural Technology from the University of New Hampshire’s Thompson School of Applied Science, Aspell writes. He started in this new position on Sept. 14.

The trail is coming
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and Mayor Jim Bouley visited Terrill Park last Friday to announce that the Merrimack River Greenway Trail will receive matching funds of $100,000 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, Aspell writes. Do you think they’d give us a grant for the water park we have always dreamed of building? It includes land and water.
Funding will be used to build a multi-use trail connecting Terrill Park and Kiwanis Riverfront Park.
Trashing safely
Harzardous Waste Day
Concord and Penacook residents are encouraged to bring their household hazardous waste to the city of Concord’s Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Everett Arena (15 Loudon Road) for safe disposal, Aspell writes. And no this does not include those bags of used diapers that have been sitting around for a couple weeks.
Proof of residency is required. For a list of acceptable items to bring and information on how to safely transport these materials, visit concordnh.gov/hhw.
