Reader Earl Burroughs sent us this photo of the Wonalancet Club’s float from a Concord parade in 1897, although float is probably used liberally here (a sleigh full of that many dudes would obviously sink – duh.) Anyway, we’ve decided that modern parades could benefit from utilizing more items from this photo, most notably different colored horses, those amazing chef-type hats the club members are wearing and the mitten, ball and mustache combination on the guy who was obviously the inspiration for the Chef Boyardee cans. Also, suggested club slogan: Wanalancet? I’d love a lancet!
