This vehicle made in the Abbott & Downing yard for Concord Steam Laundry represents the era when car makers figured it would totally be safe to not put any sort of anything on either side of the driver or some kind of shield in front of him. If the driver were a football player, this car would be his leather helmet. Thankfully they’ve made tremendous strides in safety standards since then – unless you’re a UPS driver. Then you still have no doors and you have to wear those awful brown shorts. Thanks to reader Earl Burroughs for the photo.
