The Attenbury Emeralds

Jill Paton Walsh

2010, 338 pages

Fiction

This is a Dorothy Sayers-inspired mystery, involving her characters Lord Peter Wimsey, his wife Harriet, and his invaluable manservant, Bunter. Harriet asks Peter to recount his very first case about the Attenbury Emeralds. Peter and Bunter tell her how they solved this very intriguing mystery.

If you are missing Lord Peter and Bunter and wishing that Dorothy Sayers had written more mysteries about them, you are in luck! Author Jill Paton Walsh does a terrific job here. And if you've never read a mystery involving Lord Peter – you should! He and Bunter are two of the most engaging and interesting characters you'll encounter in detective fiction.
