The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its continuing partnership with the Orr & Reno law firm to present a Legal Breakfast Series covering topics relevant to small business owners, business and non-profit managers.
Legal Breakfast Series workshops are free of charge and will be held on Tuesdays from 8 to 9 a.m. at the offices of Orr & Reno, located across from the State House at One Eagle Square. A continental breakfast and coffee will be provided. Please register with the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce by the Friday before the event at 224-2508 or visit concordnhchamber.com.
The first seminar in the 2011-12 series will be held Oct. 18 from 8 to 9 a.m. and is entitled “Business Defamation on the Internet,” presented by attorney Jeremy Eggleton. Running a business in today's information marketplace can be challenging. The internet presents incredible opportunities for reaching new markets and growing established markets, but it also is a perfect environment for that dissatisfied customer or unethical competitor to undermine your reputation and goodwill.
This seminar will look at the issue of defamation on the Internet, review a business' legal options when a transaction goes bad, and open the discussion for non-legal ways to combat harm to reputation on the Internet.
