Ice sitters unite

Concord's coolest!

They're back on the ice chair! Members of the Concord's Coolest Penguin Plunge Team will hit the ice on Jan. 20 at the Barley House beginning at 5:30 p.m., to benefit local Special Olympics athletes.

Returning MCs Sgt. John Thomas and Sgt. Joe Wright will entertain the crowd while local luminaries perched on the ice chair lose their layers in exchange for donations. All event proceeds benefit the Concord's Coolest Team as they plunge into the Atlantic Ocean on Feb. 5 with Special Olympics New Hampshire. Last year was a my-face-hurts-from-laughing kind of time; this year promises to be just as entertaining.

Start saving those singles, heck, even the 20s (we take debit/credit cards too) – it's tax deductible! The 2012 ice sitters include Councilors Mike DelloIacono and Steve Shurtleff, Sgt. Cori Casey, Sgt. Joe Wright, Kim Murdoch, Tonya Rochette, Jon Fogg, and a few not-to-be-missed surprise sitters.
