Celebrate summer at the Concord Food Co-op's free Red, White and Blues Wine Tasting! Jive to the sound of Dr. Dann and The Off Mission Blues Band while sampling an array of fabulous wines and outstanding appetizers inspired by the Louisiana blues and traditional Southern cooking. The event takes place July 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. and is open to the public.
“We're highlighting some of the exciting things we now sell and make in our recently renovated seafood, cafe, and bakery departments,” explained Chef Mike Cook, executive chef of the Celery Stick Cafe. “Our team of award-winning chefs enjoyed the creative freedom of creating a delicious new menu inspired by Southern fare.”
Tempt your palate with bites of classic and modern appetizers including skewered sausage and vegetables and vegetarian meatballs with three tempting dipping sauces, crab tacos, BBQ tofu lettuce wraps, corn fritters, avocado jalapeno poppers, tuna tartar, and watermelon sushi with chili caviar. Check out some specialty tables: cheese olives, a raw bar, and peel-and-eat shrimp and crayfish. For dessert, enjoy blueberry cherry cobbler with vanilla ice cream from the Co-op's newly renovated and expanded bakery. The free wine tasting includes 60 varieties of reds, whites, and rose made with grapes grown as close as our local vineyards and as far as New Zealand.
This summer food fest is free and open to the public; however, the Co-op encourages everyone to bring or buy a canned good to donate to the New Hampshire Food Bank. This is just one of the many successful, tantalizing tasting events that the Concord Co-op hosts throughout the year. No reservations necessary – just drop by! Free parking is available on the street and in the nearby Capital Commons parking garage. Visit concordfoodcoop.coop for directions and details.
