In celebration of their recent affiliation, New Hampshire Audubon and the National Wildlife Federation invite the public to a celebration of the outdoors on July 28. This free event for all ages will connect people to their natural world through live animal demonstrations, sanctuary walks, field and pond explorations, birding activities, and presentations by New Hampshire Audubon's scientific staff. Details can be found at: nhaudubon.org/engage-with-nature.
Head down to the Susan McLane Audubon Center for a day-long (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) schedule of activities includes meeting the center's resident peregrine falcon and bald eagle and learning about recovery efforts, field, pond, and sanctuary walks, a program on local medicinal plants, and celebration cake with NWF's Ranger Rick. New Hampshire Audubon's director of conservation will share how biologists use radio telemetry to track the movements of birds, and how this technology can teach us about bird behavior and habitat use. The event will also feature crafts for kids, live turtles, frogs, and snakes, green building tours, free gifts, and food.
