Weight of Water
Concord Reads is excited to announce that Weight of Water author Anita Shreve has agreed to participate in this year's Concord Reads programming. She is booked for Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the NHTI Sweeney Hall Auditorium.
Check the “Concord Reads 2012” Facebook page (and “like” it too), CPL News or the Concord Reads web page on the library's website, concordpubliclibrary.net, for further program details.
The library owns 80-plus copies of the books, so stop in and pick up a copy to read (or reread) this summer before our programs begin with a book discussion led by Suzanne Brown on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. in the library's auditorium.
Concord Reads is a community-wide reading program presented by the Concord Public Library and the Concord Public Library Foundation with the help of many community partners. The program is patterned after successful community-wide reading programs across the country. These programs are designed to encourage community dialogue and foster a love of reading.
After five years of nonfiction books, the Concord Reads committee this year chose an older fiction book with local connections. This title also ties in nicely with the “Murder in New Hampshire” theme of the New Hampshire Book Festival, which will occur Oct. 11-13.
