The Mill Brook Gallery & Sculpture Garden is proud to exhibit an acclaimed group of clay artists in a new exhibit, “It's All About Clay.” Twenty-three clay artists from Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire are exhibiting a delightful variety of objects, running the gamut from functional to sculptural. Inpidually, these artists exhibit their fine craft throughout New England and beyond.
There will be an opening reception Sept. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Artists and craftsmen are affected by their impressions of the world around us.
Tim Christensen draws sgraffito on porcelain, depicting natural wild life such as birds, fish, and whales.
Ronnie Gould's domestic, wild, and endangered animals are hand-built stoneware. She reflects that “animals appear to have a life force of their own . . . enhancing the animal's own unique movement, expression and personality.”
Megan Bogonovich creates a story with her clay sculpture. Rich in detail, her repetitive surface patterns draws the viewer ever closer. She combines naturalistic and abstract imagery creating a whimsical reality of wonder, surprise, and strange predicaments.
Other artists include Anne Alexander, Joan Carcia, Liz Corrigan, Steve Cunliffe, Barbara Danser, Larry W. Elardo, Liz Fletcher, Steven Hayden, Al Jaeger, Elenora Lecei, Glen MacInnis, Alex Matisse, Christine Merriman, Maureen Mills, Iris Minc, Andy Moerlein, Boyan Moskov, Rob Rossel, Lee Stice, and Teresa Taylor.
