The Heights Community Old Home Day organization is teaming up this year with the Windmill Restaurant’s annual Thanksgiving dinner by organizing a food drive for those recipients who attend this annual Thanksgiving dinner served on behalf of those in need.
Bright orange food collection bins will be placed inside the Windmill Restaurant and hopefully several other Loudon Road businesses will allow us to place a large orange bin for food/non-perishable collections. Any local business who would like to do a company food contribution bin would also be greatly appreciated. The HCOHD Thanksgiving Day Food Drive is ongoing and will run through Nov. 25. Distribution will be Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Windmill Restaurant from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All non-perishables/food contributed will be handed out to attendees (until supplies run out) after they dine at the Windmill Restaurant’s Thanksgiving dinner. Tables will be set up outside the restaurant so as people leave, they may fill a bag of non-perishable food to take home with them.
We hope you will assist us in paying tribute and honoring the Windmill Restaurant’s traditional Thanksgiving Dinner of Giving for the local community by also giving to those in need. Several members of our organization will also be there to serve, cook and do whatever is needed to assist their wonderful effort. Cash donations, in lieu of food drop-offs, can also be made as well.
This food drive is separate from any company or inpidual donations generally made directly to the Windmill Restaurant for the preparation of their annual Thanksgiving dinner.
High school students in need of community service hours, can help with the food distribution tables on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
