On Friday, Nov. 28, Jeremy’s Bootcamp will be donating proceeds from classes to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Concord. All are welcome to participate by donating any amount of money to participate in a Bootcamp class. It’s a great opportunity to work out the day after Thanksgiving while helping children right here in our community.
The goal is to raise $2,620 (representative of the length of a marathon: 26.2 miles) for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Concord. This contribution will cover the weekly vacation fee for 25 children during the 2014 Winter Vacation Camp.
According to Jon Clay, development director for the club, “Many of us remember school vacations as a lot of fun. They were a chance to go on trips, see our friends and enjoy a nice break from school. Unfortunately, not everybody sees school vacations in this same light. School provides our youth with basic rights such as warmth, safety and nutrition. It is difficult to believe, but access to these rights is not guaranteed for everybody in our community during school vacations.
“The Boys & Girls Club is happy to provide these basic rights to every member when schools are closed. We open our doors at 7 (a.m.) in the morning and they are not closed until 6 (p.m.) at night. Positive role models inside the club provide members with fun activities, such as arts and crafts, gym games and games room tournaments. On top of this, we also go on at least two field trips per school vacation to places like Concord Sports Center and the Boston Children’s Museum. Most importantly, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Concord provides healthy snacks and a nutritious dinner to every member that attends our camp.”
Class times on Nov. 28 are 6 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. (additional classes will be added based on demand). All are welcome – you don’t have to be a Jeremy’s Bootcamp member. Admission is a donation of any amount. Pre-registration is requested by contacting Jeremy Woodward at 721-2830 or jeremy@jeremysbootcamp.com. Jeremy’s Bootcamp is located at 153 Manchester St.
