It should come as no surprise to our faithful readers that we’re big fans of delicious food. So you can imagine our reaction when we heard the Co-op was going to be whipping up tantalizing dishes from all over the world again.
We’ll let the people at the Co-op take over from here with the info: Back by popular demand, Executive Chef Scott Jones and his team in the Celery Stick Cafe are revamping the World Cuisine Tour for 2015 at the Concord Food Co-op. New passports, a major prize, an updated hot bar menu and free wine tastings started Feb. 19 and will continue every Thursday into April. During the World Cuisine Tour you can expect a full hot bar menu with 12 trays inspired by regional cuisine from all over the world, including vegetarian and vegan options. Jones will take everyone’s taste buds back through Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America and everywhere in between. Inspired by your favorite dishes from last year’s tour, look for some of the same recipes and some exciting new items you won’t find anywhere else in Concord.
Don’t forget to pick up a Co-op passport during the tour to get a sneak peak at the upcoming menus. Collect Co-op passport stamps and you can enter our grand prize raffle. Each Thursday during the World Cuisine Tour, when you purchase food from the hot bar you can collect Co-op passport stamps from our “customs station.”
At the end of the tour customers who have received Co-op stamps on six or more of the nine tour stops can be entered to win two tickets to the Co-op’s Farm to Table Appreciation Dinner on Aug. 14 at the Canterbury Shaker Village.
On select evenings, enjoy free wine samples from 4 to 6 p.m. that have been paired with the featured cuisine on the hot bar.
So make sure to grab a Co-op passport and join the Celery Stick Cafe for this nine-week world cuisine tour.
