So there’s this guy Rob Azevedo. He hosts a weekly radio show on WNHN and has even been a willing participant in some Insider antics over the years.
And if you’ve been perusing the Monitor website anytime in the last week or so, you may have noticed a new gray box with blue letters in it. That’s Sound Check, a new blog Azevedo is writing for the Monitor. It covers topics like his Thursday night radio show, music and comedy performances throughout the Granite State and really just about anything he feels like writing about.
It will be updated on a regular basis, so check back often just to make sure you don’t miss anything earth shattering. We’ll also be putting stuff in the Insider, so just like you always do, remember to pick us up every week.
And as a little intro, here’s a little snipet of Azevedo’s first ever entry for Sound Check. To see the rest of it, visit music.concordmonitor.com.
So without further ado, we give you Sound Check:
The email I sent read something like this:
Dear Station Manager –
I have no experience in radio, but I love the Delta Blues
And cow punk country
And Outlaw Country
Friday night rock and roll
a sweaty drum beat
some jazz, gospel
Big Yes on fiddles and harps
the stand up bass
the cigar box guitar
wayward songwriters, bitter scribes and manic comics.
Can we meet? I’d like to try and do a radio show on your station.
Thank you, RA
Now we know what you’re thinking ‘what did the station manager say? Like we said before, all you have to do is go to the Monitor website and click on Sound Check. It’s really that easy, and you’ll never be out of the loop.
