It can get hot out there this time of year, especially if you happen to be under a thick, luxurious coat of fur. And dogs can’t do any manscaping, so they’re pretty much just stuck with what they got.
Not anymore, though – at least not outside at the Pope Memorial SPCA, where a group of St. Paul’s alumni and students stopped by last Friday to help clean up the dog yard and build a shady area for the pooches to hang out in.
The hard-working volunteers built a shady awning to hang over the kennel area so the pups can play outside without having the sun beating down on them all the time. Honestly, if it gets too hot out, we might try to crawl in there, too – looks pretty nice.
According to Shannon Camara, director of special events and educational outreach at the SPCA, the St. Paul’s group works together every year to help out local organizations, and spent some time this year next door at the Audubon, as well.
