Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell buys 20 wallet-sized school photos of the city memo so he can hand them out to his family. Look how cute it is all dressed up with a fresh haircut and presented for you here.

Meet the po-lice
The Concord Police Department will host its third “Coffee with a Cop” event July 31 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at McDonald’s at 111 Fisherville Road, Aspell writes. Proposed alternative name: Pastry with the Po-Po.
This event provides a uniqueopportunity for Concord Police officers and community members to come together in an informal, neutral space that most likely doesn’t involve forcible restraint to discuss community issues and build relationships in a relaxed, one-on-one interaction over coffee. All members of the community are invited to attend to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers. Although if you all show up, it’s probably going to be pretty crowded.
For more information, contact Lt. John Thomas or Officer Ryan Howe at 225-8600.

Work is still a thing
Throughout this week, crews will continue with drainage work for the Main Street project, completing all projects by the end of the week, Aspell writes.
Yesterday, crews worked heavily at the Capital Plaza, completing demolition and hydrant work, today the first section of street reclamation will take place from Centre Street to the Capital Plaza and Wednesday through Friday crews will focus on drainage work and road building in the areas that were previously reclaimed. We’re presuming the roads were reclaimed without the use of excessive force.
