Thanks to a weekend weather forecast that predicted thunderstorms and significant cold rain, the Concord Public Safety Foundation’s Board of Directors elected to move the 2nd Annual Bark in the Park: Canines for K-9 to a new September date. The decision was difficult to reach, but safety of canine and human attendees was paramount. The event will remain at Concord’s White Park, with the fall date to be announced soon.
There will be those who assume it was somehow Keith’s doing to get the event postponed, out of the growing fear of donning the bite suit to square off with an attack dog. We can confirm that A) while Keith may have been scared, he can barely order a sandwich correctly, let alone order thunder from Mother Nature; and B) He wasn’t that scared. (Disclaimer: B is completely false).
Alas, for those who want further proof no shenanigans were involved, there’s this: community members will still have an opportunity to meet K-9 working dog Fanto this spring, ask questions of Sgt. Nick Hodgen, Fanto’s handler from the Hillsboro Police Department, and see local notables don the bite suit for Fanto’s demonstrations. An indoor event is being planned for May in Concord. No word yet on whether limiting bite suit participation to Concord notables eliminates Keith from consideration.
