National Night Out is a few weeks away. It will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Rollins Park from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Mark your calendar and bring your family and friends to a fun and educational event.
There is something for everyone: police demonstrations, wildlife displays and animal encounters, fire safety booth, Touch-A-Truck, rock climbing wall, service booths, games, music, and contests and kid-friendly events by Concord Parks and Recreation.
Hot dogs, pizza, fried dough, cotton candy, sno-cones, fresh lemonade and ice cream will be available for $1 each (all proceeds go to support the National Night Out event.) Buy your food tickets at the gazebo in the center of the park, which is near the stage and food booths. Tickets are $1 each.
And don’t forget the 2014 Badge Ball (Dodge Ball) Tournament. Teams will battle it out to bring home the trophy and bragging rights. If you want to form a team, contact Dana Dexter or Ryan Howe at 225-8600.
Havenwood Heritage Heights will provide shuttle buses that will make five-minute loops between the parking lot at 2 Pillsbury St. (the old Blue Cross building) and the Broadway Street entrance to Rollins Park. Shuttles run from 4:45 until 8:15 p.m. Note: Parking will not be available on the residential side of Bow Street, but you will be able to park on the side of Bow Street that abuts the park. There is also a handicapped-accessible parking area reserved near the entrance to the park on Broadway.
For questions, call the event coordinator, Officer Ryan Howe, at 225-8600.
