Fiction
A body is discovered in a bog in Wales in 1955 and homeopathologist Richard Pryor and his colleagues try to determine if this is an ancient “bog body” or a more recent murder. Other interesting cases are presented; the team attempts to solve amurder by the blood splatters, and to discover if a long-lost son is truly who he says he is. This is when forensic science was just beginning to emerge to be used in court cases.
The author is a retired Home Office (part of the United Kingdom's version of Homeland Security) pathologist and he makes the science and detection interesting. He also gives a real sense of place of Wales in the 1950s.
