The Concord Public Library is offering a free backpack to any Concord kindergartners who register for a library card. The backpacks include a book, a coloring book and crayons. In order to be eligible for a library card, the kindergartner must live in Concord and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We ask that those adults please bring in a photo ID and something with the family's current address (in many cases that will be just an up-to-date driver's license). If your kindergartner already has a library card, just let the library staff know that when you come in, and he or she can get a backpack, too.
Kindergartners can come to the main library branch on Green Street or to the Penacook Branch Library at 3 Merrimack St.
This program is sponsored by the Concord Public Library Foundation. For library hours or any questions, please call 225-8670.
