Tour some cool spots
Intown Concord’s fifth Annual Upstairs Downtown Tour will be held May 22 at 5:30 p.m., Aspell writes. Just put intown, downtown and upstairs into your GPS for directions.
The event will feature a two-hour guided tour of downtown buildings, followed by a wine and cheese reception on the top floor of the Capital Commons office building. Penthouse wine and cheese? Sign us up!
Tickets are $20 each and are available at Merrimack County Savings Bank. Only 100 tickets are available and the event sells out fast! Like hotcakes, if hotcakes are a thing you like to get quickly.
Featured properties on this year’s tour include CATCH’s Endicott Hotel apartments, the new Bindery Building, Phenix Hall, the office suites at Bicentennial Square, and a gorgeous private residence located above Rowland’s Studio. Not included on the tour: the space above your garage.
The goal of the tour is to highlight the potential of upper story redevelopment in downtown. In addition, this year’s tour will showcase three properties which were developed through public/private partnerships with the city. That’s just teamwork making stuff happen, people.

Annual perennials
The 13th annual Perennial Exchange, sponsored by the Friends of the Audi and the General Services Department, will be held May 11 from 8 a.m. to noon, behind the City Auditorium on Prince Street, Aspell writes. Annual perennials are my favorite kinds of things that happen every year, every year.
This is a chance for gardeners to “split and swap” perennial plants with someone else and, it’s free. Don’t have any to swap? Steal some from your neighbor’s garden! (Don’t really do that). All are welcome to come and see what’s available and make a donation. Different plants arrive throughout the morning.
