For some reason, I’ve always wanted to have a barber shave my face with one of those old-school razor blades. I’m terrified of needles and can’t even look when the doctor draws blood, but apparently letting another man put a sharp slab of metal on my throat is no problem. It’s easier if you don’t spend too much time trying to figure it out.
Josh Craggy of Lucky’s hooked me up. It didn’t help that you have to essentially play PacMan to follow the grain of my facial hair, but Craggy soldiered through. It was more of an experience than I thought it would be – warm shaving cream, steamed towels. They take good care of you at Lucky’s. Like Craggy said, it’s a way to get pampered and still feel manly. Except for the whole being afraid of needles thing.
