The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire, in collaboration with the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food and Carroll County Farm Weekend, is organizing a first-of-its-kind event – an organic and sustainable farm weekend on Sept. 7-8.
The theme of the event is “Get to know the hands that feed you!” Participants can take a whirlwind tour of twenty-six sustainable and organic farms throughout New Hampshire or simply select from a few local farms to visit in each region during the weekend of Sept. 7-8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participating farms will open their doors to the public and will offer tastings of produce, grass-fed sausage, jams and jellies, homemade mustard, and herbal teas. Visitors can participate in farm tours and various scheduled activities such as fishing, wellness workshops, farm equipment demonstrations and live animal showings. The event is free and open to the public; each farm will have its own unique activities and will offer a range of goods for sale, from PYO berries, fresh herbs and veggies available at farm stands, country cheeses and jams for sale, free-range eggs, pumpkin picking and more!
