Get ready to swing your partner and do-si-do because Concord Coach Squares’ square-dancing classes are back and beginning on Jan. 13, 7 p.m., at West Congregational Church, 3 Garrison St.
To get the hoedown lowdown (we’ve been dying to say that for quite some time now), we talked with Concord Coach’s Joanna McIntosh. For even more information about Concord Coach Squares, call 798-5304.
How long do the classes run? The classes run Jan. 13 through May 5.
Can you drop in at anytime, or do you need to attend all classes? You can drop in, but there are new calls each week. If you miss too many classes, you would get behind.
How much does it cost to attend? The first two nights are free, and then it’s $5 per person each night.
Do you need a partner? You do not need a partner. Usually there are some singles at each class.
What if I have two left feet? It doesn’t matter if you have two left feet; you just do what the caller calls. There are three other couples in the square, and they will all help you.
Is there a dress code? There is no dress code. Dress casual.
What ages will enjoy square dancing? All ages are welcome. We would like to get more couple clubs, church groups, teenagers and young, married couples to join us.
Last but not least – what’s so great about square dancing? If you can walk, you can square dance. Join us now for fun, exercise and friendships.
