The Concord Public Library is happy to announce that eBooks have arrived at the New Hampshire downloadable books website; nh.lib.overdrive.com.
All you need to check out an eBook is a Concord Public Library card and a compatible eBook device which includes the Barnes & Noble Nook and five versions of the Sony Reader. Check the OverDrive website at overdrive.com to see which devices are supported.
Your PC or Mac computer is also a compatible reader. Most laptops and many netbooks run full versions of Windows or Mac OS and could work nicely for some people as an eBook reader – especially the small netbooks with long battery life or laptops that fold into a tablet.
To help get you eReading, the technology resources librarian at the New Hampshire State Library has put together some slide shows related to the two types of readers supported. Mac and Nook users should visit tinyurl.com/34wxwxj. Mac and Sony Reader users can visit tinyurl.com/358ab8d and PC users should go to tinyurl.com/3836nye.
Please ask at the reference desk for a demonstration of how to find these eBooks or call 225-8670 and choose option two.
