The New Hampshire Historical Society's history outreach programs will reach a new group of underserved students in schools with a higher proportion of low-income students thanks to a grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation.
More than 2,000 students in 40 schools all across New Hampshire will receive the society's classroom-based programs, free of charge, in the upcoming school year. Teachers and classrooms selected to take advantage of this program can choose from among the society's menu of seven hands-on, artifact-based lessons for the program that best meets their needs.
In addition to visiting classrooms, the society's educators provide pre- and post-visit lesson plans to complement our outreach programs, providing teachers with additional resources to make history more meaningful.
