Spanish tapas, wine and jazz at the co-op
A holiday tapas bar will be held on Nov. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Concord Cooperative Market, 24 S. Main St.
Journey into the Mediterranean with the co-op’s Celery Stick Cafe chefs. Sample tapas (appetizers) inspired by Spain, listen to live Spanish jazz music and enjoy a free sampling of Spanish wines.

Remember a loved one this December
The Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association’s Hospice Lights of Life is under way and you are welcome to honor loved ones by illuminating a light in their memory and listing their name in the Hospice Lights of Life honor roll. The deadline to submit names is Nov. 13.
Those honored do not need to have been a part of the VNA’s hospice program. There is no cost to honor a loved one or friend. Donations are accepted.
The opening ceremony for Hospice Lights of Life will be held at the Merrimack County Savings Bank, 89 N. Main St., on Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Hundreds of electric candles will be lit throughout December in the windows of downtown Concord, Contoocook, Henniker, Hillsboro, Penacook and Pittsfield. Following the ceremony, churches will ring their bells to honor the memories of loved one and friends in the community.

Donate dough to help feed Concord’s hungry
In preparation for this year’s holiday food basket project, the Capital Region Food Program has donation canisters available at local businesses and banks throughout the Concord-area.
All proceeds will be used to purchase food to assist the economically and physically challenged inpiduals and families throughout Concord and the surrounding 17 communities served by the program.
